Faster creation, easier navigation, and content that keeps pace
This month’s updates give authors a simpler Smart Import experience, help Moodle customers plan their next upgrade, and make H5P easier to navigate and use.
A new Smart Import, built for a quicker start
Creating content with Smart Import is now much faster. Add your source material, choose the H5P activities you want to create, and let Smart Import take care of the rest.
The redesigned workflow keeps everything in one place, rather than asking you to move through multiple steps and return when each one is complete. You can paste in a website or video URL, add text, or upload a file, then select activity types from a visual, category-based picker.
Generation happens in the background, so you can carry on with other work while your content is created. You’ll receive one notification when it’s ready.
🇪🇸 Spanish is now fully supported in Smart Import too, giving Spanish-speaking authors a more dependable way to turn existing material into interactive learning activities.
Ready for Moodle 5.2
H5P now supports Moodle 5.2, so organisations can move to the latest version of Moodle while continuing to create, manage, and use their H5P content.
We’ve also improved the reliability of content upgrades, helping existing activities move across safely and consistently as you update your platform.
A smoother experience for every author and learner
A few smaller changes make everyday use of H5P that little bit easier. You can now click the H5P logo in the top navigation to return to your content library at any time, without relying on your browser’s back button.
We’ve also improved keyboard navigation in Drag the Words. Learners using a keyboard can now continue navigating the activity after cancelling a mouse drag, helping to avoid a keyboard trap and creating a more reliable experience for everyone.
See everything in this release
Smart Import is now faster to use, Moodle customers can plan their next upgrade with confidence, and the everyday H5P experience is becoming more intuitive and accessible.
