Better content, clearer authoring, and learning that adapts
This month’s updates refine Smart Import, make content easier to manage, and help create more comfortable, accessible learning experiences.
Smart Import keeps getting sharper
Smart Import now makes it easier to move between source options without losing your work. Information stays in place when you switch tabs, and validation only applies to the source you’re currently using, so the process feels more straightforward from the start.
We’ve also improved the quality of generated content in French and Spanish. Activities and questions now read more naturally, with better localisation and fewer distracting references back to the original source material. The result is learning content that feels more complete and ready to use.
Find the right content at a glance
H5P content libraries now use icons specific to each activity type, rather than generic file icons. It’s a small change, but a useful one when you’re managing a growing collection of content and need to quickly spot the activity you want.
We’ve also refreshed text fields and selection menus throughout the editor, giving the authoring experience a cleaner, more modern feel.
More comfortable learning experiences
H5P activities are becoming more responsive to how learners prefer to interact. Flashcards, Memory Game, and Single Choice Set now respect device-level reduced-motion settings, reducing or simplifying animations for learners who find movement distracting or uncomfortable.
We’ve also improved focus indicators in Interactive Book and made screen-reader announcements on its summary screen clearer. These updates help learners navigate with more confidence, whether they use a keyboard, screen reader, or both.
Keeping integrations secure
We’re strengthening the security behind H5P’s LTI integrations with an update to the JWT library used for authentication between your LMS and H5P.
If you manage an LTI integration, check that the RSA key configured in your LMS is 2048 bits or larger before the September update. If it already meets that requirement, no action is needed.
